In May of 2011, I was flown out to California as a casting finalist for season 12 of NBC's Biggest Loser. After being sent home, I managed to lose a considerable amount of weight on my own. I still have a lot more to lose and I hope that this blog will help me keep track of my progress and keep me accountable as I work towards my goal.

EATING HEALTHY AT THE MOVIES
Movie theaters have always been my second home. Just to put this in to some perspective, I’m seeing three movies this weekend alone. I know, I know, it’s sad.
Since I’ve been on this weight loss journey, my biggest challenge has been finding a way to eat healthy at the movies. I’ve eaten healthy meals before going to the theater. I’ve snuck in fruits and nuts in overly conspicuous jackets. None of that really felt like a great replacement to the popcorn and candy that’s become so synonymous with my movie going experience.
So as I walked in the Downtown Disney AMC theater and saw the sign for “Smart Movie Snacks” it immediately peaked my interest. Not only is it an incredibly healthy alternative, but at only seven dollars it’s cheaper then any popcorn/soda combo you could buy. If you have an AMC theater near you, please try this out and let me know what you think. I promise you won’t be sorry.

FOOD TEMPTATIONS
(Round 2)
So in addition to the copious amounts of baked goods served at work today, we were also privileged to free California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. This is where things got tricky. Almost every pizza offered is over 1000 calories and I’m not trying to ruin my day for the sake of free pizza.
So instead of engulfing a full 10inch pie by myself, I opted to share a thin crust cheese pizza with an equally health conscious co-worker. I had three slices, I was more then full and it ended up being a little more than 450 calories.
Not too bad right?

It’s kind of a crazy day at work today. We released a new product and the store has been in full party mode.
Needless to say the back has been filled with snacks of every variety. My personal favorite is the strawberry & blackberry cobblers posted above.
Everyone was going ape nuts over this stuff and I wanted some so bad! But I didn’t have any.
Did I watch people chew their baked dessert and vicariously eat through them? Yes! But did I actually eat any? No! And really that’s all that matters.
It’s just not worth it.

POST WORK OUT MEAL
I was so hungry when I finished my work out today. I also had a bunch of fruit I needed to eat before it went bad.
So I kinda killed two birds with one stone… (that’s a weird phrase)

Most people bring cakes and cupcakes to a party. I do that heathy swag! All natural peanut butter on graham crackers with fruit! It’s pretty legit

Single egg cooked with peppers on top of toasted wheat. Served with a side of blueberries, strawberries and kiwi. Topped off with my new favorite drink, grapefruit juice! #breakfastclub
